Two startups from Universitas Indonesia successfully completed the NUS Graduate Research Innovation Programme (GRIP), gaining international exposure and potential funding opportunities
TWO startups fostered by University of Indonesia (UI), Anjungan Telehealth Mandiri (ATM) Sehat and Integrated Farming, successfully passed the acceleration programme at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Graduate Research Innovation Programme (GRIP) in Singapore. These startups, supported by the Directorate of Innovation Science Techno Park (DISTP) UI, also succeeded in the UI Incubate 2024 Scale Up Scheme Selection.
Director of Innovation Science Techno Park UI, Mr. Ahmad Gamal, in Depok on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024, expressed that sending UI-fostered startups to participate in this global accelerator programme is expected to instill a global business mindset and provide access to international networks. He highlighted that this initiative aligns with the goals of the PRIME STeP program by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), encouraging UI startups to secure series A and B funding from investors.
NUS GRIP is an Accelerator School that supports startups in developing their innovations and collaborating with the venture capital ecosystem and international mentors. ATM Sehat focuses on early detection and prevention of health complications, while Integrated Farming aims to enhance the circular economy in poultry farming by utilizing household waste. These programmes provide comprehensive support from the ideation stage to launch, ensuring startups can develop and compete in the global market.
The programme, which started on July 10th, 2024, and will run for five months, aims to help startups develop their innovations and collaborate with industry and venture capital globally. Co-Founder of ATM Sehat, Mr. Sigit Mohammad Nuzul, expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to represent DISTP UI-backed startups at NUS GRIP, hoping to gain valuable insights from international mentors and venture capitalists in Singapore.
CEO of Integrated Farming, Mr. Adam Doni, noted that joining the NUS GRIP accelerator programme offers a significant opportunity to meet global partners and implement the latest technology in agritech. He emphasized that this participation will help significantly develop the Integrated Farming business, increase efficiency and productivity, and expand market reach internationally. The program provides intensive guidance from experts, access to funding, and other necessary support to ensure the growth and sustainability of the startups.
