In Jakarta, Industry Minister Bapak Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita underscored President Jokowi’s directive for state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to prioritize domestic products, aiming to achieve a 95% utilization rate under the Increased Use of Domestic Products (P3DN) program in 2024.
Kartasasmita highlighted the importance of supporting the domestic industry by maximizing the utilization of budgets allocated to ministries, agencies, and SOEs for various projects and initiatives. The target reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening the processing industry, a key sector driving national economic growth.
By channeling budget spending towards local products, the government aims to stimulate economic growth and ensure that public funds contribute to the development and prosperity of local communities. Acknowledging the vital role of ministries, agencies, and SOEs in driving the P3DN program, Kartasasmita announced plans to recognize and award entities that demonstrate outstanding commitment to utilizing domestic products. These initiatives are aimed at fostering greater collaboration and partnership between the public and private sectors in supporting the local industry.
Looking ahead, Kartasasmita expressed optimism that the commitment to the P3DN program would yield significant results, with the target for domestic industry utilization projected to reach Rp1,000 trillion by 2030. This ambitious goal reflects the government’s long-term vision for promoting economic self-reliance and sustainability through the support of local industries.
