Ambassador Suryo Pratomo participated in the annual run, promoting second chances for former inmates
H.E. Suryo Pratomo, the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, participated in the “Yellow Ribbon Prison Run” held in Singapore. The event, which took place in the Changi area, was flagged off by Singapore’s Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo.
Ambassador Pratomo joined the 5-kilometre run, which took participants around the Changi Prison complex. The Yellow Ribbon Prison Run, now in its 15th year, is organised by a non-governmental organisation aimed at encouraging Singaporeans to offer second chances to individuals who have been incarcerated at Changi Prison.
The run attracted a diverse group of participants, including community leaders, volunteers, and members of the public, all supporting the initiative to reintegrate former inmates into society. The event highlighted the importance of community support in providing opportunities for ex-offenders to rebuild their lives.
Over the years, the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run has become a significant platform for raising awareness about the challenges faced by former prisoners and advocating for their acceptance in society. The presence of dignitaries like Ambassador Pratomo underscored the event’s importance in fostering inclusive communities across borders.
