Marina Bay Sands unveils US$1 billion reinvestment affirming confidence in Singapore’s tourism future

MARINA Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre is Singapore’s first carbon neutral MICE venue and it is also the first in Southeast Asia to obtain ISO20121 Sustainable Events Management System certification, the Green Mark Platinum Certification by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Green Building Certification.

Marina Bay Sands (MBS) is matching these achievements and commitment to the environment with US$1 billion in reinvestments to elevate luxury travel and hospitality experience here to the highest levels. This includes a state-of-the-art entertainment arena, an ultra-luxury hotel tower and additional MICE space, extensive upgrading of all rooms and suites in Towers 1 and 2, Executive Club Lounge and health and wellness offerings.

Another new development is the opening of Wakuda, the Japanese restaurant created by legendary Chef Tetsuya Wakuda and restaurateur John Kunkel of the 50 Eggs Hospitality Group. They join MBS spectacular lineup of celebrity chefs and signature restaurants. Roberta’s Pizza, New York’s swanky pizzeria and JUMBO Signatures, famous for Singapore chilli and black pepper
crabs will open in 2022.
