Singapore welcomed 16.5 million visitors in 2024, a 21% rise from 2023, with projected tourism receipts reaching record levels, according to the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) reported on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, that Singapore recorded 16.5 million international tourist arrivals in 2024, reflecting a 21% increase from the previous year. This figure represents approximately 86.4% of pre-pandemic levels in 2019, showcasing the city-state’s robust recovery in the tourism sector.
Tourist spending also saw a significant boost. The projected tourism receipts for 2024 range from 27.5 billion to 29 billion Singapore dollars (approximately 20 billion US dollars). This potential record-setting figure will be confirmed when the final data is released in Q2 2025.
For 2025, STB anticipates continued growth, forecasting 17 million to 18.5 million international arrivals and tourism receipts of 29 billion to 30.5 billion Singapore dollars.
The report highlighted that visitors from Mainland China accounted for the largest share of arrivals in 2024, totaling 3.08 million visitors, followed by travelers from Indonesia, India, Malaysia, and Australia.
STB attributed the remarkable growth in arrivals and spending to several factors, including:
- Reciprocal visa-free travel policies between China and Singapore,
- Large-scale events and concerts,
- Newly launched attractions and tourism offerings, and
- The expansion of airline networks connecting Singapore with global destinations.
The positive trends underline Singapore’s appeal as a global destination for leisure and business travelers, driven by its strategic initiatives to enhance connectivity and enrich visitor experiences.
